Each year approximately 10 tons of plastic can be found in the areas around primary schools in Kati, Mali. And these plastics that end up in Mali are from Western and European nations.
The damage to the environment is the equivalent to two thirds of schools are surrounded by individual or common landfills. Meanwhile, the damage to the health of these children is catastrophic. One in three children have breathing problems because of the incineration of plastics near schools.
That is why EEYE has decided to free our schools from these damaging plastics, give Malian children the opportunity to study in a healthy environment. With your help, EEYE will be able to fight against plastic pollution in the community.
